You’re never to old to ‘Take Part’ – these groups encourage parents and members of the local community to engage with Performing Arts and experience the physical, social and wellbeing benefits that they can provide. Whether it be singing in a choir, taking part in a tap or ballet class or even a new idea for a group you think we could run such as a writers group – we’d love to hear from you! These sessions promote ‘play’ and ‘creativity’ in a world where we can often be so far removed from our primal instincts in these areas. We like to view it a little bit like Neverland – the place where you never have to grow up!

Adult Musical Theatre
‘The Company’ adult musical theatre group meet every Tuesday (term time only) 19.45-22.00 at New Mills School.
– To have as much fun as possible.
– To learn how to sing properly.
– Dance moves, but nothing scary, no one will feel intimidated.
– If you’ve got a voice, we’ll find it and let you use it!
– Meet new friends.
– Once a week lets stop worrying about what goes in our mouth & concentrate on what can come out of it!
– Feel the fear and do it anyway! Musical theatre buzz… There’s nothing quite like it.
– For once forget about the demands of life, this is all about you!
A fun, sociable and relaxed environment where you will quickly forget your nerves. Singing in a group is a wonderful experience. It is incredibly uplifting to hear the richness of sound around you that you only get from singing in a large group. Men and women welcome.
“I’ve not done anything for ages” – well now it’s your time! “I’ve never been on stage before”, not a problem – it’s all about confidence boosting… Feel the fear and do it anyway! A great place to start – a really friendly crowd!
Are you a secret Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers? Have you ever thought about taking Tap Classes? Well it’s time for you to Take Part in our Adult Tap Classes! Come along and give it a try, no previous dance experience necessary.
In our class it’s not just about the Tap Dancing, but also about ‘Stepping Out’ and trying something new in an enthusiastic, friendly, positive and inclusive atmosphere with a fantastic group of like-minded people.
Taught by our highly trained and experienced teacher, former professional dancer, Jessica Jordan, you will be given all the guidance and support you need to start you on your Tap journey or – if you have prior experience – pick up right where you left off. While learning new tap steps, combinations and routines you incorporate musical awareness, develop your rhythm and timing, and have lots of fun making new friends along the way.
