Bella Bailey
Performing Arts Tutor / Chaperone (Mentee) - Volunteer
Hi, I’m Bella, and being part of Dare to Dream has been one of the most important and inspiring experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been involved as a performer, front of house, and in the tech team, but what I’ve loved most is working with the younger children and helping them feel safe, welcomed, and confident to be themselves.
Take Part has always been a safe space for me, a place where I can embrace who I am without feeling like I don’t fit the “stereotype” of what people expect. Being surrounded by people who support me and help me feel comfortable being myself has really grown my confidence, and I’ve made friendships here that I know will last a lifetime.
This project has helped me step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and understand how important it is to approach everything with a warm smile. I’ve learned so much about communication and how to encourage children who might feel anxious or nervous to put themselves out there. Seeing them grow, and knowing I can help them feel brave enough to dream big, means everything to me.
Musical theatre has shaped who I am. It’s helped me accept myself, find my voice, and become more creative. Even though making friends hasn’t always come easily, everyone at Take Part has been so welcoming that I’ve felt like I truly belong.
Being part of Dare to Dream has left me feeling inspired, proud of who I am, and more confident about my future. My next goal is to work hard for my GCSEs so I can go to college and study musical theatre. One day, I hope to inspire younger children and show them that it’s completely okay to be who they want to be, and that they have the confidence to show the world their true selves.
If I could sum up what Take Part means to me in three words, it would be:
Safe. Supporting. Inspirational.
