Share skills, knowledge, direction, values and experiences. Above all, we all share in an eagerness to develop and progress.
Dare to take risks and to have the confidence to go that extra mile. Going out of their comfort zones; acting in the face of uncertainty.

Child counselling skills blend through our programmes
For as long as she can remember Cathryn, our Head of School has wanted to help people through their struggles and challenging situations, which as we know we all have at one stage in our lives or another. In 1992 she became a Family Support Worker in the Family Office within the Army, it was her role to support the families through testing times. In 2008 she volunteered at HomeStart, a local community network of trained Volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. Over recent years within her role as Choreographer of the Friends of the Art Theatre annual pantomime, she would often find herself identifying strengths to empower children and enhance their confidence for the stage.
In Cathryn’s role of Head of School at Take Part, New Mills she brings all of her experience, skills and training and now her brand new qualification to embed child counselling beliefs and principals within the work we do to support our families.Read more
Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Behaviour Support at Take Part
From an early age Leanne Chance has been a performer. After an extremely successful 20 year performance career Leanne became a Mum… and everything changed. Through parenting by instinct and following her baby’s cues Leanne became fascinated in how a baby learns and grows. During lockdown Leanne has expended this knowledge by studying Child Psychology, gaining a level 5 qualification which covered areas such as Attachment, Social and Emotional Development and Moral Development. If you want to hear more about Leanne’s improved skill set to bring to the pupils of Take Part please read on.Read more
Speech Therapy & SEND Support at Take Part
Roxy Verdon has a passion for Music as we know, but she also has a passion for inclusivity. Her student centred approach is one of the very many attributes she brings to our offer at Take Part. Speech Therapy is just one of the essential parts of Roxy’s delivery blended throughout her lesson plans, to ensure optimum communication whether through singing, acting or in every day life. Roxy’s pivot on Lockdown 1.0 was to enhance her Level 3 TA qualification through to a Level 5 whilst up-skilling her vocal qualifications. We are thrilled with Roxy’s achievement, and so proud of this new qualification she has gained as continued professional development. If you want to hear more about Roxy’s improved skill set to bring to the pupils of Take Part please read on.Read more
