By Bus

The 61 operated by High Peak buses stops in New Mills very nearby to the school and runs between Glossop & Buxton. Please consult your local travel planner for further routes and options.

Instructions

When entering and exiting the school by car there is a one-way system in place. If approaching from Low Leighton Road, turn into Church Lane and continue beyond the first entrance opposite St George’s Primary School, turning left into the main car park entrance. Our base is in the Drama Department buildings. Upon exiting you will need to follow the one-way system around the main school building (the car park gate will open automatically upon approach).

By Train

The school is a 10/15 minute walk away from Hadfield train station – this line runs from Manchester Piccadilly, passing through East Manchester before reaching Tameside and finally Glossop.

By bus

The 237 operated by Stagecoach & 341 operated by Stotts both stop very nearby. They run between Tameside – Glossop and Charlesworth – Glossop respectively. Please consult your local travel planner for further routes and options.

Instructions

The school is just off Newshaw Lane with a newly designated entrance. You should turn right once through the gates, into the main school car park. The building is used for community use at weekends via ‘The Place’ which has its own entrance and reception desk – follow the path around the rear of the building towards the football pitches and you will see the entrance. Once at reception, the team should be able to guide you, but on the off-chance nobody is present please take a left after the double doors and follow it round, you will see our Take Part signage to welcome you.

By Train

The school is a 5 minute walk away from Marple train station – this line runs from Manchester Piccadilly, passing through East Manchester before reaching Tameside and finally Glossop. There is Rose Hill train station which is a 10 minute walk from the school also.

By bus

The 383 & 384 operated by Stagecoach and the 394 operated by High Peak both stop very nearby. They run between Mersey Square (Stockport), Stockport Heaton, and Glossop – Stepping Hill. Please consult your local travel planner for further routes and options.

Instructions

The school is located on Arkwright Road and has a small car park within the blue gated area. The car park has a one way system with one gate for the entrance and a second gate on the right of the school to exit. We have our classes in the schools main Hall and for safe entry ask you use the ‘Nursery’ entrance on the left where we will welcome you. You will also see our Take Part signs to help you.

Do parents of siblings in different stages need to pay for multiple show tickets? 

No, additional show tickets are complimentary for parents/guardians/carers and siblings. To receive your complimentary tickets please contact info@wearetakepart.com to access your discount code and reserve your seats.

Do we need to purchase tickets for under 18’s? 

If your child/young person requires a seat, a ticket purchase is necessary. 

What should my child wear for the Summer Showcase? 

Your Take Part uniform, this includes: Take Part T-shirt, black leggings/joggers, black socks, black shoes – if the weather is cold you can wear a long sleeve black jumper underneath so the Take Part logo is still visible, or you can purchase a Take Part Hoodie from our website.

For the ‘Performance and Pizzazz’ Dance Showcase a separate email has been sent out with information about costumes and what to wear.

Do audience members need to wear a mask?

Currently all audience members must wear a mask, unless exempt. For performances after the 19th of July you will be updated with information about the compulsory/non-compulsory wearing of mask after the next COVID announcement on Tuesday 13th July.

Where do I queue and park before the show? 

Ushers will be in the car park and the auditorium on the day of the show to guide you to your seats and help maintain social distancing. Furthermore, before show day an email will be sent to all parents/guardians/carers of participants about parking, drop off times and arrival.

What time should I arrive?

For all audience members please arrive in plenty of time before the performance, we advise 30 mins before the show begins so we can ensure exiting and entering is done as safely as possible.

For children/young people in the show, your specific arrival times will be sent to you via email prior to show day.

Will refreshments be served before/after the show?

We will not be serving refreshments before or after the showcases.
