Hi, I’m Frankie, and I’m 14 years old. Dare to Dream has been one of the most exciting things I’ve ever been part of. When I first joined Take Part, I was really nervous and I didn’t even do drama at school, I used to ask if I could skip performing because it scared me so much. Being here has changed that completely. I’ve learned new dances, new songs (including a Spanish one!), and discovered that I’m braver and more capable than I ever realised.

My favourite part of the project has been learning new skills and seeing everyone smiling, dancing, and genuinely enjoying themselves. Performing with friends and helping younger children has helped me grow in confidence, communication, and problem-solving. I’ve learned how to ask for help, how to support others, and even something as simple but important as remembering to drink water!

For me, “daring to dream” means becoming the person you want to be, even when it means stepping out of your comfort zone. Getting into different characters has helped me connect with my emotions, and it’s made me excited about the future. I don’t know exactly what I want to be yet, but I want to try my best, live life to the fullest, and maybe become a farmer, a vet, an actor, or work for a charity so I can help others.

Take Part has shown me that some people can be really kind, that I’m able to manage nerves better than before, and that I can be proud of who I am. I’ve made new friends, learned so much, and I feel happy being myself here.

If I could give one piece of advice to next year’s mentees, it would be:
Be you, work hard, and do your best.

And to everyone who made this project possible —
Thank you for bringing me more confidence.
