Maisie Jubb
Performing Arts Tutor / Chaperone (Mentee) - Volunteer
Hi, I’m Maisie! I’m 14 and I’ve been part of Dare to Dream as a performer. My favourite part of the project has definitely been working with the younger children — supporting them, cheering them on, and helping them feel confident has made me feel really proud.
One of the moments I’ll never forget is when we all finally nailed the Surface Pressure dance together. It felt like everything clicked, and it reminded me how exciting it is to be part of a team. Through this project, I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone, found my voice, and become more confident sharing my ideas.
Dare to Dream has taught me so much about communication, leadership, and believing in myself. It’s helped me talk openly about my future goals, like choosing my GCSE options and working towards studying at a great theatre college. Musical theatre has also helped me express my dreams and think about the path I want to take.
For me, “daring to dream” means going for your goals no matter what, even if things don’t go perfectly. I’ve made new friends, grown in confidence, and learned how important it is to take the leap.
What I love most about Take Part is how included and supported it makes me feel. Other clubs or school activities can sometimes feel a bit excluding, but here I always feel welcomed. It’s a safe, fun, and supportive space where everyone encourages you to be your best.
If I could give one piece of advice to new mentees, it would be: don’t be afraid to talk to people, share your ideas, and take the lead — you’ll surprise yourself.
And if I could say one thank you?
Thank you Take Part for pushing me to my very best.
