We also would like to highlight that children/young people of any gender can audition for any of the principal roles and the production is a fully inclusive show. We won’t be changing the gender of the role or the name of the character or the pronouns associated with the character, as this would be a violation of copyright.
Please note that there are other supporting roles that are not listed below, all auditonees will also be considered for these roles. Keep an eye out on our socials for information about some of these other super roles.
For your video recording please use the backing track provided, not the vocal track.
Please perform the musical numbers, using acting through song suitable for the character – don’t just sing the song be the character!
Marlin – Open to Year 2
Marlin has the largest speaking and singing role in Finding Nemo Kids. He links all parts of the story together alongside his trusty companion, Dory.
An anxious clownfish and Nemoโs overprotective father who prefers the safety of his anemone to the frightening unknowns of the open ocean.
As he travels across the sea in search of Nemo, Marlin develops the courage to face the unpredictable ocean and the wisdom to trust others โ including his own kid.
Dory – Open to Year 1 & Year 2
An optimistic and bubbly blue tang, experiences frequent short-term memory loss and finds herself wandering through the ocean with no place to call home.
Sparking friendships with whomever she meets, Dory immediately offers to help Marlin find his lost child, and the two set out on an adventurous journey through the ocean.
Along the way, Doryโs kindness and bright spirit ease Marlinโs fears, and the unlikely duo finds comfort and family in each other. Look for a performer with great charisma and a stage presence that can light up a room.
Nemo – Open to Year 1 – Year 2
A curious young clownfish who brims with excitement to explore the wonders that lie beyond the Great Barrier Reef.
Born with a โlucky finโ โ or what humans would call a limb difference โ Nemo quickly learns that the world possesses incredible dangers in addition to the promise of big adventures.
By making new friends, finding strength within, and practicing teamwork, Nemo transforms into a capable and brave leader, able to self-advocate and take on challenges big and small.
Bruce – Open to Year 1 – Year 2
Crush – Open to Year 1 – Year 2
Other named parts – Open to Reception – Year 2
These parts rang in size from larger to smaller singing and acting roles.
Please submit the script and song provided below (Nigel’s Script and singing part in One Dedicated Father) and state in your audition/on the file name (if submitting a self-tape) the part that you would like to be considered for first.
Please note, the casting team will consider your audition for all roles listed below, but it is useful for you to let us know your preferred one.
