Hi, I’m Millie!

I’m a Performing Arts Tutor and part of the Mentee Programme at Take Part, which has been one of the most positive and confidence-building experiences of my life. As a mentee, I get to develop my own skills in performing arts while also supporting younger children in sessions and rehearsals. I love being someone they can look up to — encouraging them, helping them learn routines, and showing them that it’s okay to make mistakes and have fun while you grow.

Being a mentee has given me the chance to explore leadership, communication and creativity in a really supportive environment. I’ve learned so much from working alongside the team and from being trusted to take on real responsibility. The programme has pushed me in all the right ways — from becoming more confident in my singing to sharing ideas, working collaboratively and stepping into a role where I can inspire others.

Dance has always been one of my biggest strengths, and I love being able to use that to help younger performers feel excited and confident in their own movements. At the same time, the programme has helped me challenge myself and improve in areas I wanted to grow. What I love most is how relaxed and encouraging everything feels — you’re allowed to try new things, make mistakes, and learn at your own pace.

For me, “daring to dream” means wanting more for yourself and pushing forward every day to reach your goals. My own dream is to train to become a primary school teacher, and the mentee programme has shown me just how much I enjoy supporting and guiding younger children — it feels like exactly the path I want to follow.

Take Part feels inclusive, supportive, safe, fun, and friendly — a place where wellbeing comes first and everyone is encouraged to be their true self. I’m so grateful to be part of a team that champions creativity, kindness, and confidence in every young person who walks through the door.
