National Storytelling Week
So this week we are celebrating Take Part’s first virtual performance project on Take Part TV.
It’s completely free of charge, all we ask that you help keep Take Part alive by supporting us with some likes, loves, shares and comments. We will be bringing you lots of entertainment over the next few weeks, just as you asked for in our survey. Not only does this help our awareness and the ’save the arts’ campaign but it gives our performers a platform and a focus for their learning. So thank you in advance for supporting us with Take Part TV!
What exactly is National Storytelling week?
National Storytelling week was launched by The Society for Storytelling which was founded in 1993 to support and promote storytelling in England and Wales. Give their website a visit: https://www.sfs.org.uk/national-storytelling-week National storytelling week is a project where we can discover the difference between reading and actually telling a story – 2 very different things. It’s a celebration of bringing stories to life, which is a huge part of what we do at Take Part, and let’s face it – everyone has a story.
Who are the cast members?
Well we have our Triple A performers (Aspire, Advance, Achieve) who are our oldest students at Take Part, all of whom are studying and applying for drama school and careers in the arts. They are all students at Performing Arts colleges in Manchester and attend Take Part to enhance their skills and performance opportunities. They have used their Zoom lessons as an opportunity to advance their self-taping and acting through song techniques. You can see their performances later in this article.

The Tallisman

The Talisman is a novel by Sir Walter Scott. It was published in 1825 as the second of his Tales of the Crusaders, the first being The Betrothed.
The Talisman takes place at the end of the Third Crusade, mostly in the camp of the Crusaders in Palestine. Scheming and partisan politics, as well as the illness of King Richard the Lionheart, are placing the Crusade in danger. The main characters are the Scottish knight Kenneth, a fictional version of David of Scotland, Earl of Huntingdon, who returned from the third Crusade in 1190; Richard the Lionheart; Saladin; and Edith Plantagenet, a relative of Richard.
