To be part of our ensemble no audition is necessary – if you are new to Take Part we just ask for you to fill a quick register interest form (Step 1). BUT if you would like to audition for a principal role please follow our 3 Easy Steps on how to audition…
We also would like to highlight that children/young people of any gender can audition for any of the principle roles and the production is a fully inclusive show.

Step 1 - Sign Up!
To ‘take part’ in our production of Annie Kids please complete our register interest form below:
If you are already a pupil and want to audition for a principle role, please skip this step and follow steps 2 & 3.
Step 2 - Pick your character
Below we have the music and lyrics for all of our principle roles where you can decide which roles you would like to audition for. To audition you must learn the song allocated to your character and send a video recording to us via Step 3 below. You do not have to perform the whole song but we do ask for a minimum recording of one minute.
You can audition for more than one role.
Character Descriptions
Annie
Character Description
Annie is a complex, tough, streetwise urchin who is surprisingly vulnerable when she thinks she might lose what has become most important to her: her newfound “family”. We are looking to cast an excellent actor who can act motherly, independent, overwhelmed and hopeful. Someone who is strong vocally and musically and be able to light up the stage in “Tomorrow”.

Miss Hannigan
Character Description
Miss Hannigan is a definite “has been” her distaste from her job should ooze from every line she delivers. We are looking for a strong actor with excellent comedic timing. They must have a strong versatile singing voice and be able to create a character that is larger than life.

Oliver Warbucks
Character Description
Oliver Warbucks is the daunting millionaire who made his fortune during World War I as an industrialist. This is. a challenging role, so we are looking to cast an actor who is self-assured and confident and gently authoritative. In the beginning, Warbucks is awkwardly affectionate toward Annie and then find finds himself completely charmed by her.

The Orhpans
Character Description
The orphans are gritty girls that are neglected and vulnerable, yet honest and loveable. We are looking to cast children who can have “mischievous” fun together, as well as “sibling-style” fights. Each actor should be able to shape their own specific character, be a good singer and visually expressive.
The orphans are:
Molly (the littlest), Kate (next youngest), Tessie (the ‘cry baby’), Pepper (the ‘toughest’), July (the ‘quietest’) and Duffy (the ‘eldest’).
For the video audition recording please use the backing track provided – not the vocal track. (For this character, if you wish to do a duet audition please submit two videos, one per participant)
