Is Your Child Mentally Healthy?
Whatever cards life may deal you, however bad things may seem, you can choose how you react. No one can ever take away your reaction to your experiences in life.
Raising Awareness for Mental Health
At Take Part we have a role in raising awareness of mental health issues in the community and reducing stigma and discrimination. As children have headed back to school and faced with more changes to deal with, we appreciate that during this time may be wobbly for some.
Definition of children’s mental health:
Children who are mentally healthy are able to:
•Develop psychologically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually
•Initial, develop and sustain mutually satisfying personal relationships
•Use and enjoy solitude
•Become aware of others and empathise with them
•Play and learn
•Develop a sense of right and wrong
•Resolve (face) problems and setbacks and learn from them.
Mental health is the emotional and spiritual resilience which allows us to enjoy life and survive pain, disappointment and sadness. It is a positive sense of wellbeing and an underlying belief in our own, and others, dignity and worth.
