We’re currently recruiting for a Part-Time Operations & Front of House Manager to join our team and support the running of our Saturday school, termly showcases, and family communications. This is a key role, perfect for someone who’s calm, organised, friendly, and passionate about working with children and families.

- 10 hours per week (5 on Saturdays, 5 flexible midweek)
- Based in New Mills, High Peak, Derbyshire (hybrid working)
- Mix of admin, customer care, safeguarding and show support
- Ideal for someone with strong communication and organisation skills
- Full training provided – we’ll support the right person to grow into the role

Essential Job Functions
🔒 Safeguarding and Child Protection – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Assist with safeguarding and child protection responsibilities, ensuring children’s safety and preventing harm.
- Help with safer recruitment and staff/volunteer suitability, including checks and references.
- Support the management of safeguarding concerns and promote mental health and wellbeing.
- Aid the DSL in developing and reviewing safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Implement safeguarding policies, ensuring all issues are appropriately addressed.
- Ensure staff and volunteers understand safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Inform children, young people, and parents about who to contact for welfare concerns.
- Report concerns about children to the DSL and assist in dealing with child protection concerns.
- Support the DSL in handling potential risks from adults involved with the organisation.
- Help with record-keeping and ensure records comply with legal and organisational policies.
- Keep management updated on safeguarding matters.
- Stay informed about child protection developments and attend relevant training.
- Participate in team meetings and other sessions as needed.
- Be flexible and perform other reasonable duties as required.
🩹 First Aid & Safeguarding
- Act as the designated First Aider on Saturdays (training provided if needed).
- Respond appropriately to accidents, illness, or behaviour concerns.
- Log incidents and escalate safeguarding concerns to DSL.
- Be a trusted adult and advocate for child safety and wellbeing.
🛡️ Health & Safety
- Assist with health and safety training for staff and refresher sessions.
- Help manage First Aid responsibilities.
- Support the development of health and safety plans within the school.
- Assist in managing facilities, including building use and liaising with the school.
- Coordinate basic maintenance of the school site and facilities.
- Regularly check premises and equipment for maintenance issues, logging and addressing them with the school’s Facilities Manager.
- Advise the school on Health and Safety concerns.
- Contribute to the safe maintenance and security of the school premises we hire.
- Help ensure a secure environment for all stakeholders, supporting the provision of Take Part’s services.
- Support systems that identify hazards and conduct risk assessments.
- Help with effective monitoring, measuring, and reporting of health and safety issues to the school.
- Ensure security levels align with the Take Part’s ethos and adult-to-child ratios.
- Oversee that statutory obligations are met for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring adequate support for their diverse needs.
📞 Customer Service & Communication
- Act as the first point of contact for phone calls, emails, and parent queries.
- Greet and support families during Saturday sessions and shows.
- Liaise sensitively around absences, injuries, well-being, or support needs.
- Handle email exchanges and regularly answer calls and messages from parents, carers, and other stakeholders on the Take Part phone.
💻 Admin & System Management
- Manage bookings, registers, and child onboarding via Class4Kids.
- Assist with scheduling, registers/subscriptions, updating contact details, and organising new trials.
- Send emails to parents/carers and onboard new families into the system.
- Support the Stripe financial management system for the school and budgets.
- Manage the central Take Part calendar to coordinate rehearsals, events, sessions, and staffing.
- Support weekly communications with families and team members.
- Keep the Take Part website up to date with term dates, show details, and key info.
- Contribute to ensuring the school is GDPR compliant.
📣 Digital & Social Media
- Use Canva to design and schedule social media content.
- Post weekly updates and monitor engagement across platforms.
- Ensure brand consistency and alignment with safeguarding policy.
- Utilise social media platforms for digital marketing.
🎟️ Shows & Events – Front of House Theatre Manager Duties
- Act as Front of House Manager for live shows and public events.
- Manage audience entry, seating, ticketing (via TicketSource), and crowd flow.
- Assist with TicketSource, box office software.
- Direct and support volunteers and front of house team.
- Run raffles, interval refreshments, and merchandise tables.
- Handle enquiries, lost property, and audience care.
- Design and produce show programmes using Canva.
- Collate advertising from local businesses for inclusion in programmes.
- Assist in obtaining necessary licences and permissions to comply with performing legislation.
- Assist in identifying needs and securing appropriate licences and insurance.
